Guntersville FIshing Charter April 3rd Guntersville fishing report
I guided everyday last week and the fishing was excellent. The numbers of fish landed ranged from 28 to 50 per day. The biggest fish we weighed was 6lbs and 14oz. With the full moon approaching I expect another wave of fish to move up shallow. You can catch numbers of small fish shallow right now but all of our bigger fish have been deeper in the 7-9 foot range. The best baits right now are Ratltraps, chatterbaits and senkos. The crappie are moving into their pre and post spawn areas at the moment. The next 3 months crappie fishing will be incredible. My guides can easily limit out on big crappie. We are tight lining a Bobby garland type grub and a curly tail in 10-15 feet of water. Go by gto or waterfront and stock up on tackle. If you are interested in fishing with a USCG licensed guide call 256-744-5185.
Guntersville FIshing Charter March 28th Guntersville fishing report
This March has been one for the ages. We have been guiding almost everyday and the fishing has been phenomenal. The weather however has been unpredictable at times. The biggest bass landed in my boat was an 8lb 14oz fish that was post spawn. Those really big fish ease up and spawn earlier than most think and then they escape the shallows before the fishermen figure out they are there. I averaged about 30 fish a day in March and that number will go up as the year progresses. My crappie guides have been showing off catching limits most days and the size of fish shocks most customers. The crappie are around bridges, brushpiles and boathouses. We have been catching them with a 1/16 oz jighead and a Bobby garland in key lime pie and albino. Go by GTO or waterfront and stock up on tackle before your next trip. Guntersville FIshing Charter March 20th Guntersville bass fishing report
Guntersville showed out Saturday in the Alabama bass trail event. 29.55 won and there were 22 limits over twenty pounds. 40th place was almost 18 pounds. The lake is full of aquatic vegetation and the current out on the Tennesee river keeps everything active.  The forecast this week is for 80 degree temperatures which should move up a big group of prespawn fish. I expect the fishing to improve as the weather improves over the next few weeks. This weeks guide trips we have landed about 30 fish per day with the best day being 57. I have a few openings left in March and we have plenty of days available in April and May. The best baits this week were lipless crankbaits and chatterbaits. If you want to fish with a USCG licensed guide call 256-744-5185.
Guntersville FIshing Charter Guntersville crappie fishing report
Wow!!!! The crappie population has increased exponentially and my guides are catching limits almost everyday. When guntersville is full of grass the entire ecosystem is healthy and plenty of grass we have got. Last week we had crappie trips everyday and every trip limited on 12 inch plus fish except 1. The fish are staging in the prespawn areas and they are feeding agressively. Bridges, boathouses and brushpiles are the main cover we are targeting at the moment. We are using a 1/16 oz jig with a Bobby garland type grub. The best colors are key lime pie and electric chicken. Go by GTO and Waterfront to stock up on tackle before your trip. Guntersville FIshing Charter March 8th Guntersville Fishing Report
This week we have been guiding everyday and the fishing is phenomenal. We are averaging 30-40 fish per day but one day this week my clients landed over 100. There are groups of fish in multiple depth zones at the moment. You can catch plenty of small fish up shallow but the bigger fish are out deeper. Ratltraps, crankbaits and chatterbaits are our best producers. The full moon was last night and I expect the prespawn and post spawn staging areas to be the dominant pattern in the coming days. My crappie guides are limiting out on most days with the average size fish being 12 inches. The crappie are in the prespawn phase and we are catching them tight lining a 1/16 oz Bobby garland with purple mist being the best color. Go by GTO or waterfront and you can get everything you need. If you are interested in a guide trip call 256-744-5185.
Guntersville FIshing Charter March 2nd Guntersville fishing report
This was the week when the water temperatures reached 60 and the full moon is coming. I did 4 bass trips this week and we averaged 40 bass per day. I am catching them deep and shallow and in between. The best baits are traps, chatterbaits and we even caught some on a frog. I just spoke with my crappie guide and he had a 3 man limit of crappie 12 inches or better. The best baits for crappie are Bobby garland grubs on a 1/16 or 1/24 oz jighead. The best colors this week were  purple mist and blue ice. If you are interested in a guide trip call 256-744-5185.
Guntersville FIshing Charter February 24th Guntersville fishing report
The crappie fishing is incredible at the moment. It was 83 degrees yesterday in north Alabama and the crappie are moving into the prespawn areas and feeding aggressively. The best patterns are bridges, brushpiles and boathouses.  We are catching most of our fish tight lining a jig with the best colors being monkey milk and chartreuse/white. The last 10 days my guides have limited out on crappie that are 12 inches or better. The bass are also biting really good and are moving into the outside grasslines in 6-9 feet. The best baits have been Ratltraps and chatterbaits. With the forecast for more warm weather the fishing will remain excellent. Guntersville FIshing Charter February 18th Guntersville fishing report
Guntersville showed out yesterday at the Toyota series weighin. 30th place is 18 pounds, a dozen 20lb bags were brought to the scales and 27.9 is leading. Not to mention it was freezing cold and the wind blew 20 mph. The dominant baits were lipless crankbaits and Arigs. I just spoke to one of my guides and he has 40 keepers already this morning. The next several months are going to be incredible. The crappie are also biting. We are limiting out most days and the size is excellent. Most of the crappie are atleast 11 inches and the average crappie we are catching is probably 12 inches. If you are interested in a guide trip call 256-744-5185.
Guntersville FIshing Charter February 9th Guntersville fishing report
Wow guntersville showed out this weekend. The battle of the brands tournament took 24 pounds to win. There were 10 bags over 20 pounds and 23 over 18 pounds. When the weather gets more consistent the fishing will really get good. I expect a big group of spawners to move up on the next full moon and after that it's going to be fun for months. I had 4 guide trips this week and the size continues to be phenomenal with the quantity around 15 per day. By March I expect the number of bites to triple and we should be catching 25-50 per day for the rest of the year. Currently my best pattern is prespawn staging areas in 7-9 feet and the best bait is a jerkbait. My crappie guides are limiting out on big crappie everyday now. If you want to fish with a USCG licensed guide call 256-744-5185.
