Guntersville FIshing Charter November 22nd Guntersville bass fishing report
The cooler weather has triggered an aggressive feeding pattern. I had 2 guide trips this week and we caught the biggest fish we have caught since last winter. If you like catching big ones December and January is by far the best time to catch them. Our best baits have been a jerkbait and a freeloader. The bait is congregated in current breaks near hard structure and the bass are close by. The recent rain has caused increased current flow and that magical number of 30,000 cfs has them feeding. As the water temperature drops into the 50s we will see the best fishing of the year. If you are waiting on spring to come to guntersville you are missing the best fishing. Guntersville FIshing Charter Nobember 15th Guntersville crappie fishing report
Guntersville has a healthy population of big crappie and they are biting. Most of my clients are taking home 20-30 crappie per day. Bridges, brushpiles and bluffs are the deal right now. The fish are in 10-15 feet and feeding aggressively. We are tight lining Bobby garland type baits in monkey milk and blue ice colors on a 1/16th oz jighead with 4lb line and a 7ft light action rod with a 1000 series reel. The best feeding windows are the first 3 hours of the morning and the last 3 hours of daylight in the afternoon. These fish are very sensitive to color and presentation but when you get dialed in it can be a lot of fun. If you want to fish with a USCG licensed captain call 256-744-5185.
Guntersville FIshing Charter November 7th Guntersville bass fishing report
This lake is fishing very diverse at the moment. If you want to test your ability to adapt and master every technique now is the time. Everyday is different and there are more deep fish than I have ever seen in November. The deep fish are locked on shad near the creek channels and the shallow fish are in wolf packs feeding randomly. The best bait out deep is a spoon and up shallow a crankbait is best. This week we have caught an average of 20 per day with the size increasing as the days get shorter. If you are interested in fishing with a USCG licensed captain call 256-744-5185.
Guntersville FIshing Charter November 1st Guntersville fishing report
Finally the water temp is in the 60s and we have a true fall bite. This last week has been our best week for quality and quantity in months and will continue to Improve. Today we landed 50 with a best 5 of 19lbs. We have averaged 40 a day this week. You can catch them in 1 foot or 30 feet and anywhere in between. Best baits have been a freeloader, a crankbait and a spoon. These fish are on bait and not structure. I had a school of 5lbers come up beside my boat for 15 minutes Tuesday. We caught 20 in a row. The crappie bite is also great. My crappie guides are limiting out in 5 hours most days. If you are interested in fishing with a USCG licensed captain call 256-744-5185.
Guntersville FIshing Charter October 24th Guntersville bass fishing report
Ribbit Ribbit!!! Down goes Kermit. The warm weather has reenergized the frog bite. The mats are shrinking and the fish are now concentrated. We have been catching fish with a variety of methods but nothing is more fun than frog fishing. As the sun warms the mats the shad start to gather around and big bass will follow. This week I had 4 guide trips and we are averaging 25 fish landed per day with the biggest fish coming on a frog. The warm weather looks to continue into November and so will the frog bite. If you want to fish with a USCG licensed captain call 256-744-5185.
Guntersville FIshing Charter October 18th Neely Henry bass fishing report
Neely Henry is on fire!!! I did 2 guide trips at Neely Henry this week and we landed about 35 a day with several big fish. There are 3 main patterns emerging relative to the fall bite. Cranking rock is a Neely staple and it's getting good. A swimjig in the water willow is a great way to put them in the boat. The most fun way to catch them is flipping trees up above Gadsden. These patterns will produce until December when the winter transition occurs and then we will have to adapt to the changing feeding habits. If you want to fish with a USCG licensed captain call 256-744-5185.
Guntersville FIshing Charter October 9th Guntersville bass fishing report
Cooler nights have the big fish biting!!! Finally it's starting to cool off and the numbers and size of the fish we are catching have increased greatly. I have been guiding everyday and the average catch rate is 40 per day. The last two days my clients have landed a personal best. Frogging and flipping is by far the best way to catch big ones. There are quite a few fish out on the creek ledges in 14 feet. Numbers of smaller fish can be caught on a small swimbait up shallow. If you would like to fish with a USCG licensed guide call 256-744-5185.
Guntersville FIshing Charter October 2nd Guntersville bass fishing report
There is a 1 million $$$ bass swimming around in guntersville lake and the fishing is incredible. The water is cooling off and the current is moving. Fall fishing is here and the fun is just getting started. The big fish can be caught frogging and flipping. The creek ledges still have several schools out deep and the shad chasers are on the move. This week we landed 45 per day with the size increasing as well. Our best baits in the mats are a beaver and a frog. The best bait out deep is the old deep plug and the schoolers are eating a jerkbait. If you want to fish with a USCG licensed guide call 256-744-5185.
Guntersville FIshing Charter September 26th Guntersville bass fishing report
This week I had 3 trips out on lake Guntersville. My clients landed an average of 40 fish per day. The early fall yields the highest numbers of bass caught all year. We are catching all sizes of fish from 14 inches to 6lbers. Our best 5 fish most days is 16-18lbs. There are several ways you can approach this time of year at guntersville. I try to be dynamic and versatile all year but that mentality really pays off in the fall. To catch numbers of fish schooling activity is definitely the deal. There is a strong deep bite near the creek channels where hard structure is found at a depth change close to grass. The punching and frogging deal is a great way to catch a big fish. If you would like to fish with a USCG licensed captain call 256-744-5185.
