Guntersville FIshing Charter October 18th Neely Henry bass fishing report
Neely Henry is on fire!!! I did 2 guide trips at Neely Henry this week and we landed about 35 a day with several big fish. There are 3 main patterns emerging relative to the fall bite. Cranking rock is a Neely staple and it's getting good. A swimjig in the water willow is a great way to put them in the boat. The most fun way to catch them is flipping trees up above Gadsden. These patterns will produce until December when the winter transition occurs and then we will have to adapt to the changing feeding habits. Cooler nights have the big fish biting!!! Finally it's starting to cool off and the numbers and size of the fish we are catching have increased greatly. I have been guiding everyday and the average catch rate is 40 per day. The last two days my clients have landed a personal best. Frogging and flipping is by far the best way to catch big ones. There are quite a few fish out on the creek ledges in 14 feet. Numbers of smaller fish can be caught on a small swimbait up shallow. Guntersville FIshing Charter October 2nd Guntersville bass fishing report
There is a 1 million $$$ bass swimming around in guntersville lake and the fishing is incredible. The water is cooling off and the current is moving. Fall fishing is here and the fun is just getting started. The big fish can be caught frogging and flipping. The creek ledges still have several schools out deep and the shad chasers are on the move. This week we landed 45 per day with the size increasing as well. Our best baits in the mats are a beaver and a frog. The best bait out deep is the old deep plug and the schoolers are eating a jerkbait. If you want to fish with a USCG licensed guide call 256-744-5185.
Guntersville FIshing Charter September 26th Guntersville bass fishing report
This week I had 3 trips out on lake Guntersville. My clients landed an average of 40 fish per day. The early fall yields the highest numbers of bass caught all year. We are catching all sizes of fish from 14 inches to 6lbers. Our best 5 fish most days is 16-18lbs. There are several ways you can approach this time of year at guntersville. I try to be dynamic and versatile all year but that mentality really pays off in the fall. To catch numbers of fish schooling activity is definitely the deal. There is a strong deep bite near the creek channels where hard structure is found at a depth change close to grass. The punching and frogging deal is a great way to catch a big fish. If you would like to fish with a USCG licensed captain call 256-744-5185.
Guntersville FIshing Charter Guntersville crappie fishing report.
Bridges, brushpiles and bluffs. We are catching about 50 per day and my clients are taking home a limit of nice ones. The best depth zone for us at the moment is 15 feet and our best technique is tight lining a 1/16 oz Bobby garland in monkey milk or albino. We use 4lb test line and a 7 foot medium action rod with a 1000 series reel. At daylight the bridges and bluffs are best and in the afternoon the brushpiles produce. Making long casts and staying as far away from the school as you can is important. If you would like to fish with a USCG licensed guide call 256-744-5185.
Guntersville FIshing Charter September 9th Guntersville bass fishing report
Down goes Kermit!!!! If you like turning off your graphs and getting up in the thick stuff hook up your boat and head to Guntersville. The frogging and flipping bite is the best I have seen it in decades. 30 bites a day all big ones. Grab some braid,a flipping stick and get in the nastiest stuff you can find. If your heart can't take an 8 pounder blowing up on a frog this isn't a safe place for you right now. My clients have been catching big ones all week and it's just getting started. Cooler nights will yield incredible action. If you are interested in fishing with USCG licensed captain call 256-744-5185.
Guntersville FIshing Charter September 1st Guntersville bass fishing report
Cooler weather is on the way!!! September is the month where we see the highest numbers of bass caught all year. I have had many guide trips inwhich my clients landed over 100. Many of them were 1 and 2 lbers but at guntersville if you catch that many bass your best 5 will be heavy. The frog bite is getting better everyday, the deep bite is better than most think and schooling fish are showing up. I had 4 guide trips last week and we caught about 30 per day with the best 5 around 17 pounds each day. Best baits are frogs, whopper ploppers and swimbaits. If you are interested in fishing with a USCG licensed captain call 256-744-5185.
Guntersville FIshing Charter August 19th Guntersville bass fishing report
Wow!!! The big fish showed up this week. One of my trips landed a best 5 over 24lbs. The rain, cooler nights and shorter days have the big fish feeding agressively at guntersville. We have been consistently landing over 30 fish a day and now the size is showing up as well. This fall is setting up to be one for the ages. If you find the bait you will find feeding largemouth bass right now at guntersville. The fish are roaming around nomadically feeding on schools of shad. Our best baits have been a whopper plopper at daylight and then a crankbait when the sun comes up and the fish move deeper in the water column. If you are interested in fishing with a USCG licensed captain call 256-744-5185.
Guntersville FIshing Charter August 19th Guntersville bass fishing report
Wow!!! The big fish showed up this week. One of my trips had a best 5 over 24 pounds and everyday the fishing seemed to improve. Rain, shorter days and cool nights have the bass at guntersville feeding agressively. This fall is setting up to be one to remember. We are catching 30 plus fish on half day trips and the increased current flow this week yielded some big fish catches. The key is locating bait and you will find feeding largemouth bass. Our best baits have been a whopper plopper before the sun gets up and then a crankbait as the fish drop lower in the water column. If you are interested in fishing with a USCG licensed guide call 256-744-5185.
Guntersville FIshing Charter August 12th Guntersville bass fishing report
The humidity is dropping and the days are getting shorter. What does that mean? Bites and lots of them. This is when we catch the highest number of fish all year long. I had 3 groups of clients this week and we caught 35 to 50 bass on half day trips with our best 5 ranging from 16-19lbs per day. You can catch them in any depth at the moment but the numbers of fish are being caught roaming around chasing shad. The best baits are spoons and crankbaits for numbers. To catch the bigger fish punching is a great option. If you would like to fish with a USCG licensed captain call 256-744-5185.
